Case Studies
The BrookCharters Towers, Queensland
The Brook – a 50,000 acre cattle station
West of Charters Towers, has 19 tanks which feed troughs throughout the property.
Trough gauges ensure troughs don’t run dry in between weekly inspections and reduces the frequency of inspection.
Tank gauges are the early detection system for leaks – over a 3 day period, an undetected severe leak or cracked pipe can waste more than a million litres of precious water.
"We have decades of rainfall data in our books and what we know is that rainfall patterns across the seasons.
These changes determine and drive our season - they define our production and feed requirements.
Having the ability to overlay our rainfall trends over decades with current data is amazing. On top of that having an interconnected buck of sensors across our 17 turkey nests and 90 troughs just saves me time.
Being able to notify me in Townsville or my manager who is on the farm helps us get into and find water leakages fast."

DoonanQueensland
A gardening enthusiast who grows as much of their own produce as possible. A tank gauge helps to keep track of tank levels and allows Sam to adjust his irrigation schedules as necessary. Living in a hilly area, mobile phone coverage is poor, so satellite tank gauges are used to overcome this.
"We live on rainwater, we have no other water source
I forget to check the tanks often.
As things are getting drier we need to top up our house tanks using a water delivery truck.
Being able to see my tank getting low and text my local water carrier to come and top us up is incredible."

NindooinbahBeadesert, Queensland
Nindooinbah is a 5,000 acre Brangus seedstock producer based just outside of Beaudesert. This bull breeding farm requires tank gauges to track levels and detect flow abnormalities. Tanks feed a series of troughs, which are supplying water to the high value bull stock. A dam gauge is incorporated on the dam which supplies water to tanks and irrigation systems.
"Water is everything, even on our small 5,000 acre block, knowing when we have water issues saves hundreds of thousands on water and keeps our cattle healthy"
